The Plant Maintenance Mechanic is accountable for the mechanical field, and will be assigned tasks that are basically mechanically oriented and are typical of those found in maintenance and/or construction.
Inspects, installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, using hand and power tools and precision-making and testing instruments.
Observes, repairs, and maintains equipment such as the following, but not limited to the following: Pumps, valves, piping, motors, lights, medical gas outlets, electrical outlets, conveyor systems, wheel chairs, suction pumps, and other related type equipment.
May perform first echelon of maintenance to equipment such as refrigerators, ice machines, elevators, fire alarm systems, heating and air conditioners.
May perform tasks related to lubrication, cleaning, belt and drive replacement, alignment of motors, air filter replacement and other related items.
First echelon of maintenance to this equipment relates to tasks such as cleaning and changing filters..
May perform tasks that include installation and repair of ceiling, floor tile and base.
Responsible for keeping parking lot and grounds in an orderly manner and maintain equipment to operate.
Completes preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
Selects stock, tools, and supplies for assigned tasks and obtains same from approved source of supply.
Loads and unloads stock, tools, and supplies from vehicles.
Performs other related tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or GED equivalent
Must have two (2) years experience in the mechanical field
POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess physical ability to endure prolonged sitting; moderate walking; lifting and carrying. May require exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally; and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently; and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for medium work.
Accountable for providing maintenance and mechanical support for corporate building.
Accountable for acting as a liaison to outside maintenance vendors
