Overview

The Command Center Support Coordinator is responsible for providing support for the critical functional needs of the ARH Command Center.

Responsibilities

The Command Center Support Coordinator duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Complete supply orders for the center
  • Administer or assist in administering the payroll function for employees
  • Assist with requesting jobs through position requisition software
  • Data entry on reports & miscellaneous projects as needed
  • Operate printer/scanner/photo copier/fax machine to meet transfer center needs
  • Review transfer logs and calls within transfer center software to correct missing information for a complete log
  • Pre-register transfer patients in electronic medical record system as needed
  • Serve as backup for answering Command Center calls when volumes are high
  • Process overflow transfer center calls by creating an accurate, initial record, in the transfer center software including input of demographics, caller needs, and handing off to patient transfer coordinator/clinical nurse manager
  • Arrange transport for transfers or discharged patients when needed
  • Follow up on arranged transports, bed placements, and other follow up needs to close the loop and communicate with sending and accepting locations as well as transport vendors, nursing, doctors, etc.. and document such communication in the transfer center software as necessary
  • Participate in training programs and ongoing education as required
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Medical Terminology Course – Desirable

 

Minimum Work Experience

A minimum of 1 year of health care related experience in an acute care hospital setting/patient care setting
