The Rehabilitation Program Manager is accountable for directing, coordinating and managing the overall operations of the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Unit in order to provide a safe, effective, efficient, high quality inpatient rehabilitation program.
Manage the service in an efficient and effective manner by planning, developing, organizing, implementing, managing and monitoring programming and services for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. Incorporate total quality management principles into unit operations.
Develops, implements, interprets and enforces work standards and procedures with the unit that are in compliance with hospital policies, governmental regulations and various regulatory agency requirements. Serves as a role model for staff by complying with established policies and procedures.
Establish policies and procedures for the inpatient rehabilitation unit.
Provide leadership for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit clinical team and supports the active interdisciplinary collaboration necessary for the delivery of patient care. Coordinate's inpatient rehabilitation services to meet patient care needs.
Ensure complete and adequate clinical documentation.
Develop and supports effective communications between unit personnel, physicians, other departments, external agencies and the community to assure continuity, coordination and collaboration in delivering services.
Consult and collaborates with physicians regarding patient care and treatment issues.
Develop and monitors outcome measurement indicators and statistics. Oversee all rehabilitation unit performance improvement activities.
Prepare, manages and monitors annual budget. Prepare and submits various analyses and reports as required. Assess staffing needs and makes recommendations for staffing consistent with corporate guidelines and budget.
Assures daily staffing is sufficient to meet patient care needs. Develop work schedules and assigns unit personnel on the basis of patient and program needs.
Oversee and promotes of employee education and development activities. Monitor's staff compliance with maintaining required licenses and/or certifications. Assures that employees receive orientation and mandatory educational inservices.
Recruits, interviews, selects evaluates, discipline and terminates personnel, or recommends such action as necessary. Maintains personnel records as required. Supervise labor relation activities within the unit.
Collaborate with educational institutions to coordinate student rotations. Oversee patient, family and community education.
Oversee marketing to the community, physicians and other agencies.
Collaborates with Administrative Staff and other managers in strategic planning processes. Establish goals and objectives for the inpatient rehabilitation unit.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Graduation from an approved, accredited school of nursing, physical therapy or occupational therapy.
Minimum 5 years experience and demonstrated management and clinical skills.
Inpatient rehabilitation experience required.
CRRN preferred for nurses.
Business or management education and experience desirable.
Registered or licensed to practice in the State of practice.
