Overview

The Coordinator of Quality Management is accountable for coordinating the development, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Improvement, Utilization review, JCAHO, Central Medical Records, TQM, and risk management activities throughout the ARH system.

Responsibilities

Coordinates the Quality Improvement and Utilization activities throughout the ARH system. Assures that each hospital has a quality improvement plan and that these plans are current. Makes recommendations on how to improve the quality of patient care. Chairs the Corporate Quality Improvement and Utilization Review Committee.
Presents to the ARH Board reports on quality improvement activities in the ARH hospitals.

Reviews medical staff and quality improvement committee minutes for proficiency of clinical skills; tracks the maintenance of clinical skills as compared to the medical industry.

Assist the hospital clinical professionals in the development and implementation of a standardized critical pathway system.

Coordinates the implementation of JCAHO guidelines in ARH system and serves as Corporate resource person.

Coordinates the development and implementation of a standardized medical records system.

Coordinates risk management as it pertains to quality improvement and utilization review throughout the ARH system.

Coordinates total quality management activities throughout the ARH system. Provides in-service for TQM and serve as Corporate resource person.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduation from a state accredited or approved school of nursing and must hold current license to practice nursing.
Minimum of five years experience in clinical nursing and three years in quality improvement and utilization review.

Must have good verbal and written communication skills

Must travel approximately 25 percent of the time.
