Performs Echo imaging studies in accordance with physician orders and departmental guidelines.
Prepares and transports patients as necessary.
Prepares imaging equipment, room, and images, as need for interpretation.
Verifies and completes studies in RIS and PACS.
Maintains Quality Control on Equipment as Instructed.
Performs complete study including M MODE, REAL TIME, COLOR FLOW MAPPING and DOPPLER.
Obtains permanent records of examination.
Participates in reading with physician and contributes professional knowledge to final diagnostic impression or report.
Daily recording, copying and filing of examinations performed.
Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job related hazards.
Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Graduate of an accredited program with an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S) in Cardiac Sonography degree, or Certified by a certificate program in Cardiac Sonography
OR
Graduate of an accredited radiography program with an A.A.S. degree,
OR
On-the-Job training and shows competence in Cardiac Sonography
One year experience preferred
Current CPR Certification
Certification through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or equivalent approved organization
Basic computer skills
Must be able to comply with hospital on-call requirements
