The Staff Dietitian is accountable for the scientific planning and preparing of diets, performance of educational training and nutritional consultation with patients, hospital staff and outside agencies as well as assigned management duties.
Evaluates nutritional status and instructs for understanding of diets and diet therapy. Follows-up for adherence to diet regime.
Consults with physicians and/or nursing service personnel regarding prescribed diets and dietetic services and plans normal and therapeutic diets.
Conducts in-service training for employees.
Initiates workshops and seminars in conjunction with agencies and other hospitals and provides current nutritional education for both the public and employees.
Assists in development and/or revision of diet instruction materials and modified diets.
In absence of Director may assume duties of Director, Dietetic Services.
Performs other duties as assigned
