Overview

The Disaster Relief Center Warehouse Inventory Specialists is responsible for assisting the DRC Assistant Manager in inventory operations to include cataloguing the inventory, categorizing the inventory to facilitate smooth warehouse operations to included unloading, loading, and deliveries. 

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record incoming supplies, equipment, and materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems or spreadsheets.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to ensure stock accuracy.
• Organize and label inventory in a manner that promotes efficiency and accessibility.
• Issue and distribute supplies to DRC staff and operational areas as needed.
• Track usage rates and anticipated restocking needs to avoid shortages.
• Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and DRC leadership for replenishment of critical items.
• Ensure storage and handling procedures comply with safety and regulatory standards.
• Assist with warehouse layout planning to optimize space utilization.
• Prepare reports on stock levels, discrepancies, and damages.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment if certified.
• Support emergency mobilization, demobilization, and re-deployment of DRC assets.

Qualifications


Education
• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in logistics or related field preferred).


Minimum Work Experience
• 2+ years of experience in warehouse, inventory, or logistics operations.


Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
• Proficiency in inventory management systems (e.g., WMS, spreadsheets, or agency-specific platforms).
• Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs]) and work on feet for extended periods.
• Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, or Google Workspace).
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Forklift certification (preferred or required depending on role).
