  • Overview

    Performs CT imaging studies in accordance with physician orders and departmental guidelines.
    Prepares and transports patients as necessary.
    Prepares imaging equipment, room, and images, as need for interpretation.
    Verifies and completes studies in RIS and PACS.
    Maintains Quality Control on Equipment as Instructed.

    Special Instructions

    CT weekend position. Registered in CT or registry eligible. 1 year CT experience prefered.

    Responsibilities

    Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter-and intradepartmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.


    Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.


    Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job related hazards.


    Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts.


    Must be available for on call status, as needed, after normal operating hours.


    Quality controls all images, maintains inventory, and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel, including students.


    Reviews patient charts and requests with the radiologist to ensure the proper examination and diagnostic results are obtained.


    Assists in the administration and administers various chemical substances to render specific organs or systems more opaque.


    Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements. Explains and prepares the patient for the exam requested.


    Sets up and adjusts equipment dependent on the exam.


    Maintains equipment for proper diagnostic imaging.

    Qualifications


    Associate Degree in Radiology from approved program.

    1 year experience preferred

    Registration by the A.A.R.T. and state licensed.
    Registered or Registry eligible in CT, with requirement to become Registered within 18 months.

     

    Current CPR Certification
    Basic Computer Skills
    ALARA guidelines
    Must be able to meet hospital on-call requirements
