The Bed Coordinator facilitates an assigned group of patients through the health system with the primary focus
of efficient, effective, and compassionate inpatient care to a safe transition to a lower level of care.
There are three major elements to the coordination role of Bed Coordinator:

The Clinical Nurse Manager, working with Nurse Managers, is accountable for the supervision of nursing services for certain assigned nursing units to provide safe, effective and efficient nursing care. This position is an important part of the Management Team and the responsibilities for the position include: assigning, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical care for the assigned unit(s). This position is evaluated on the basis of objective measurable criteria, including maximizing the personal abilities and competence of staff nurses, licensed practical nurses and other personnel assigned to the unit(s) for which the Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible.
