Overview

The Medication Access Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, supporting and maintaining the activities of medication expense recovery, indigent patient program coordination, 340B program and other discounted medication purchasing programs for all ARH hospital and ambulatory patients.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with other care providers to coordinate the collection of patient, prescriber and program information for the purpose of recovering medication expenses for indigent patients, and /or medication access to promote discharge.
  • Maintain formulary and drug lists for the purpose of proper management of charges and drug discount programs including 340B.
  • Maintains records and statistics for the purpose of evaluation, cost study and program analysis.
  • Sustains general knowledge of patient program criteria, and communicates changes and developments.
  • Investigates and analyzes critical operational situations and provides directions for the resolution of problems.
  • Prepares periodic reports for the Director of Medication Access Services.
  • Aids hospital and retail pharmacists with regard to the provision of medication access and purchasing.
  • Assists with purchasing of pharmaceuticals as needed for retail and hospital pharmacies.
  • Interprets and disseminates information pertaining to State and Federal regulatory agencies in regard to indigent patient services and medication access.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Travel as required.

 

Qualifications


Education
• High School diploma or equivalent

 

Minimum Work Experience
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in healthcare or healthcare related field

 

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
• Knowledge and competency of Windows-based applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office
