Overview

The Medication Repackaging Coordinator (MRC) is responsible for managing the Central Pharmacy Repackaging Service. The MRC works directly with Directors of Pharmacy, pharmacy buyers, and Central Pharmacy Services to manage and coordinate the medication repackaging products, information systems, and supply chain management across ARH.

Responsibilities

  • The MRC completes all assignments under the auspices of the State Pharmacy Law where the MRC and the medication repackaging service resides.
  • Coordinates the function of the Central Pharmacy Repackaging service through the repackaging of varied medications dosage forms (oral solids, powders, liquids, etc.) into unit-of-use medication administration forms for use in ARH hospitals only.
  • Manages the automated repackaging machine to maximize up-time and availability of repackaged product.
  • Maintains working knowledge of automated repackaging machine updates.
  • Coordinates the maintenance of national drug codes (NDCs), lot numbers, formulary codes, and expiration dates in the automated repackaging machine.
  • Maintains competencies to perform maintenance on the automated repackaging machine in the event of unscheduled downtime.
  • Performs daily cleaning and monthly maintenance on the automated repackaging machine.
  • Performs distribution and billing functions in an accurate, prompt and efficient manner.
  • Manages Central Pharmacy repackaging Service perpetual inventory of bulk pharmaceuticals.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Required
  • 1-3 years Preferred
  • Must pass applicable competencies in math.
  • Must be able to accurately use and pass competencies on weights and measurements.
  • No history of alcoholism, drug addiction or indiscriminate use of habit forming or dangerous drugs.
  • No felony/criminal record.
  • Working knowledge of computer skills.
  • Pharmacy Technician Required
