Overview

The Help Desk Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Manager of User Support and Computer Operations in managing the overall computer operations in a manner to ensure the maximum utilization of all computing and associated hardware maintaining optimum service consistent with user needs and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing, implementing, interpreting, and maintaining work standards and procedures that are in compliance with corporate policies.
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities pertaining to the user support group, production control and computer operations.
  • Assist with interviews, selections, evaluations, disciplinary actions, promotions and terminations, personnel, or recommendations such action as necessary. Assures that personnel receive orientation and required in-service training.
  • Assist with the job schedules and operator task assignment to meet required deadlines for the purpose of maintaining job schedules.
  • Assist with reviewing the performance of employees to ensure that procedures and standards are observed.
  • Assist to evaluate the quality and appropriateness of services being provided in the department through an on-going program of quality assurance.
  • Assist with maintaining an up-to-date knowledge in the field to allow recommendations of new services, products, and equipment.
  • Assist with supervision of the control of inventory of forms and other supplies used by the Department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications


Education
• Associate Degree with a minimum of five (5) years specialized experience in on-the-job operation of Information Systems hardware, reading and following procedures.

 

Minimum Work Experience
• 10 years of Health Care IT support experience

 

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
• Responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities pertaining to production control and user support.
• Responsible for maintaining an up-to-date knowledge in the field to allow recommendations of new services, products, and equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining maximum production with minimum errors in the least amount of time, enabling the satisfactory meeting of suspense dates through the application of good management principles, technical knowledge, and experience.
• Responsible for obtaining maximum efficiency from personnel and still maintain good will and high morale of the employee.
