Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Respite Nurse Aide to provide temporary relief to primary caregivers of individuals living with Alzheimer’s Disease or Dementia. The Respite Nurse Aide will be responsible for providing care and support to clients in their homes or in community settings, ensuring their safety and well-being while giving caregivers a much-needed break. Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one care and support to clients living with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, following individualized care plans and instructions from primary caregivers and ARH Memory Care Nurse Navigator • Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding • Engage clients in meaningful activities and social interactions, promoting their physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being • Monitor clients for signs of distress or changes in condition, and report any concerns to primary caregivers and ARH Memory Care Nurse Navigator • Maintain accurate and timely records of client care and progress, and communicate regularly with primary caregivers and ARH Memory Care Nurse Navigator • Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients, including proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies • Help with Community Outreach events • Any other duties within scope of practice directed by ARH Memory Care Nurse Navigator Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent • Current Kentucky nurse aide certificate • Active BLS certificate • CPI preferred • Experience working with Alzheimer’s, dementia patients or elderly population preferred • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Flexible 36-40 hour scheduling with occasional evenings and weekends. • Travel within the Big Sandy Area Physical Demands: • Ability to lift and assist transfer of patients • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time • Ability to perform basic first aid and CPR
