Under the direction of the Director of Emergency Services, the Stroke & Trauma Coordinator is primarily responsible for quality assurance, developing goals and objectives, as well as developing and implementing department wide policies and procedures relate to Stroke Center Certification & Trauma Designation. Coordinates with the Emergency Department, Nursing units, Laboratory, Radiology and other support departments that impact the delivery system. He/She is responsible for the organization of services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach throughout the continuum of care. He/She is responsible for the orientation/training of staff in the ER/ICU as well as staff in relation to the Stoke Center Certifications & Trauma Designation.
Minimum Education
• BSN preferred
Minimum Work Experience
• Two years of clinical experience preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications
• Current registration as RN in the state (or eligibility to do so)
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
• Demonstrated clinical competence in Emergency and Critical Care nursing
• Demonstrated leadership ability and potential managerial competency. Evidence of this includes, but is not limited to, effective communication skills, ability to deal well with people, ability to solve problems, ability to confront/resolve issues, ability to motivate others, ability to plan, organize and direct the activities of others.
• Required to comply with OSHA regulations for the N95 respirator training and fit testing
