The Occupational Therapist is accountable for the developing, implementing, and maintaining a program to facilitate rehabilitation of mentally, physically, or emotionally handicapped individuals.
Plans rehabilitation programs which involved manual arts, practice in prevocation, vocation, homemaking skills, daily living, sensorimotor, educational and recreational activities to assist patients in functioning or adjusting to handicaps.
Selects activity program consistent with needs and capabilities of each patient and coordinates program with other therapeutic activities.
Selects constructive activities for patients to upgrade patient to maximum independence, prepare patient for return to work, to assist in restoration of functions and aid in adjustment to disability.
Teaches patients skills and techniques required for participation in activities and evaluates patient's progress.
Suggests special equipment for patient to use in adaption to work-living environment.
Lays out materials for patients use and cleans and repairs tools at end of session.
Conducts and participates in training programs.
May make and fit adoptive devices such as splints, braces, etc.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education (experience can be substituted for education)
Associate's Degree in a related field with experience working in Infection Prevention. Required
Bachelor's Degree Bachelor’s Degree and current license required in the field of Nursing
or
Bachelor’s Degree and current ASCP certification required in the field of Clinical
Laboratory Science Preferred
Work Experience (education can be substituted for experience)
4-6 years Preferred
