The Community Development Coordinator supports ARH’s mission of improving community health across
Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia. This position provides administrative, programmatic, and
logistical support to four Regional Community Development Managers and the Director of Community
Development in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community health initiatives aligned with
ARH’s system-wide strategic goals and individual hospital Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNAs).
The Community Development Coordinator plays a vital role in executing outreach programs, maintaining
detailed program records, and ensuring effective internal and external communication around community
development activities.
Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of community-based health events such as clinical
screenings, educational classes, support groups, public presentations, school-based health programs
Maintain accurate records of event attendance, outcomes, and other metrics for internal and external
reporting.
Process invoices and manage logistical tasks related to events and programs.
Assist in managing program budgets, expense tracking, and purchasing.
Support communication efforts, including:
Drafting internal communications around community activities
Providing social media content from community events to Marketing
Assisting with event promotion through flyers, newsletters, and other materials
Coordinate and support planning meetings and team collaboration sessions.
Provide administrative support for identifying grant opportunities and preparing materials for
applications.
Communicate effectively with internal departments, community partners, and event participants to
Education
Associates Degree preferred
Minimum Work Experience
· Prior experience in community outreach, public health programming, nonprofit coordination, or healthcare preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
· Project and event coordination Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
· Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Familiarity with social media platforms
· Knowledge of public health, community health initiatives, or healthcare systems is beneficial.
