The supervisor of phlebotomy is a hands-on position for the day-to-day supervision and oversight of
phlebotomy operations both inside and outside the main facility. The position will be a working position as
required due to staffing deficiencies daily.
Management of daily operations and coverage within the medical center confirming that
specimens are collected properly and timely manner.
Management of coverage of various clinics outside the medical facility confirming and training
when necessary staff in these areas to be able to register and verify insurance coverage prior to
sending specimens to the medical center for processing.
Ensuring that all staff are trained in their respective areas so that continuous flow of specimens
is maintained to the satisfaction of medical staff both inside and outside the facility. This will
involve periodic visits with physician practices to confirm that their needs are being met.
This role will be responsible for ensuring that all phlebotomy staff meet annual requirements for
their positions based on accreditation and ARH policies. This will also require that annual
competency files are kept updated and meet ARH system guidelines.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent Phlebotomy certification (required)
Minimum Work Experience
2+ years’ experience Prior supervisory experience (preferred)
