Overview

Assesses, designs, presents or coordinates educational programs, in-service and orientation for designated

nursing and non-nursing personnel. Works well with all members of the hospital community.

Responsibilities

Responsible for providing continuing education programming for nursing and other Hospital

departments/personnel.

Provides a comprehensive orientation program for all new members of nursing services.

Conducts in service programs as required.

Documents education and training activities.

Actively pursues new developments in education and training methodology and participates in activities which

contribute to professional growth and development.

Collaborates with administrative and clinical personnel in identifying the learning needs of individuals and

groups.

Promotes a climate for the employee that encourages learning and self-motivation through the application of

principles of adult learning.

Functions as resource to members of the hospital community.

Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.

Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure

a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.

Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra-

departmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent Preferred

Associate's Degree in nursing or equivalent Required

Three to five years of progressively responsible nursing experience relative to the designated clinical services preferred. 

Registered Nurse License-required.
