Overview

The Stroke Coordinator assists the Stroke Medical Director in overall direction of the Stroke services by planning, coordinating and evaluating the activities and services. Responsible for coordination of care of stroke patients throughout the hospital and during the pre-hospital phase of care. The Stroke Coordinator ensures comprehensive and continuous patient centered, financially responsible care for each client entering or traversing the health care system within  the context of the stroke program. The Stroke Coordinator is responsible and accountable for ensuring that his/her clinical behavior is consistent with the Board of Nursing Practice Act and the mission, vision, goals, objectives, standards, policies and procedures of ARH.

Responsibilities

  • In-depth knowledge of management, communication, teaching/learning principles, nursing practice and the ability to apply nursing
  • Interpersonal communication, group dynamics, problem solving, performance improvement, delegation, interviewing, observation, counseling and teaching skills required.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse License; ACLS, PALS, TNCC, RTTDC NIHSS Certification obtained within 90 days of hire date.
  • Minimum of (1) to two (2) years Med/Surg
  • Minimum one (1) to two (2) years ICU/ER nursing
  • One (1) to two (2) years of management experience preferred.
