Overview

The Disaster Relief Center Assistant Manager is responsible for providing logistical assistance to ensure the DRC inventory received is recorded and distributed according to the direction of the DRC Manager. Also responsible for maintaining the ongoing operations in the absence of the DRC Manager to include managing, and coordinating deliveries from multiple charitable organizations as well as developing new leads and assessing the community requirements for service. 

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of distribution resource plans and schedules.
• Assist in allocating resources (vehicles, equipment, staff) to meet daily and long-term distribution needs.
• Monitor distribution performance metrics and report variances to the Distribution Resource Manager.
• Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, and transportation teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Help maintain accurate records of inventory, workforce assignments, and equipment usage.
• Assist in responding to operational challenges, delays, or disruptions to minimize impact.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives related to distribution efficiency.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for meetings, reporting, and documentation.
• Serve as a liaison between field teams and management to communicate resource needs and updates

 

 

Qualifications


Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.

 

Minimum Work Experience
• 1–3 years of experience in logistics, distribution, supply chain, or operations support preferred.


Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
• Strong understanding of resource planning, inventory control, and distribution processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office and distribution management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS, TMS).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and operational demands.
