Overview

The Disaster Relief Center Manager is responsible for leading all operational aspects of the Disaster Relief distribution center, including inventory control, staffing, shipping/receiving, and warehouse management. This role ensures that resources are effectively allocated to meet performance, safety, and cost objectives while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations of the distribution center, including labor scheduling, warehouse management, shipping/receiving, and inventory accuracy.
• Manage resource planning to ensure optimal staffing levels, equipment utilization, and workflow across all shifts.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to drive safety, quality, and productivity.
• Analyze operational data and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and warehouse staff, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with transportation, procurement, and customer service teams to coordinate inbound and outbound logistics.
• Support strategic projects such as warehouse automation and process redesign.
• Manage operating budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for operational savings.
• Conduct regular audits of inventory, equipment, and safety procedures.

 

Qualifications


Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.

 

Minimum Work Experience
• 5+ years of experience in distribution or warehouse operations, with 2+ years in a leadership or management role, preferred.

 

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
• Strong knowledge of inventory management and logistics processes.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage resources in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed.
