Overview

The Quality Data Analyst serves as a data quality specialist and technical liaison between the Clinical Excellence department, Central Abstraction, Local Facilities, and various IT departments within the organization. This role is essential for ensuring that quality and performance improvement initiatives are underpinned by accurate, validated, and accessible data, driving data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

The following are the essential functions of the job, along with the corresponding performance standards. Data Extraction and Validation: Responsible for the accurate extraction, manipulation, and cleaning of complex clinical and operational data from various source systems, including Meditech, to support all Clinical Excellence initiatives. Perform rigorous data validation checks to ensure integrity and reliability.
• Dashboard Management and Reporting: Design, develop, implement, and maintain high-impact Power BI and Tableau dashboards and scorecards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics for executive leadership and clinical teams.
• Technical Liaison: Serve as the primary technical liaison between the Clinical Excellence department and organizational IT departments, ensuring that data infrastructure and reporting needs are prioritized and accurately executed via ticket maintenance and structured communication.
• Project Management & Support: Execute project management duties for quality data initiatives, tracking progress, managing timelines, and coordinating cross-functional resources to ensure successful delivery of data tools and reports.
• Process Audit Support: Provide data retrieval and analytical support for internal and external process audits, regulatory reporting, and accreditation surveys, including TJC and CMS quality programs.
• Training and Education: Assist in educating internal stakeholders on how to interpret and effectively use the quality dashboards and data tools for performance improvement and decision-making.

Qualifications


Education
Education Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience in a related information technology field (such as data analysis, clinical informatics, or NC) can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

 

Minimum Work Experience
Minimum Work Experience in data extraction, analysis, and visualization. Experience working in a healthcare or hospital system environment preferred. Demonstrated experience managing projects and maintaining issue/service tickets. Expertise in national standards and compliance frameworks (TJC, DNV, CMS Quality Reporting etc.) with fluency in data analytics tools and process improvement methodology required.

 

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Ability to train teams on quality tools, interpret regulatory compliance updates and apply to data needs, and performance improvement techniques. Ability to interpret and evaluate data, develop dashboards and scorecards and use analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word).
