Overview

The System HR Generalist is based at the ARH System Center and provides full service human resources support for ancillary, typically non-hospital based employees, including executive leadership, service line leadership, system-wide directors/managers, and remote administrative teams. This is a support-focused role that operates in a high-visibility environment due to regular interaction with executive and administrative leadership and requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.

 

In addition to system-level responsibilities, this position also provides HR Generalist support to ARH Mary Breckinridge Hospital, functioning in alignment with standard hospital HR operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR support for system-based staff, including executives, service line leaders, system directors, remote teams, and any other teams as needed.

  • Serve as a primary HR contact for system departments, responding to employee and leader inquiries with accuracy, professionalism, and discretion

  • Support employee relations matters, including documentation, coordination of investigations, and collaboration with HR leadership and Risk as appropriate

  • Assist with performance management, corrective action, and progressive discipline in accordance with ARH policy and centralized HR governance

  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices across system functions and assigned hospital operations

  • Provide on-site HR Generalist support for ARH Mary Breckinridge Hospital, including onboarding, employee relations, and leader support in a hybrid working arrangment between both locations.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within HRIS and employee files

  • Support compliance efforts related to employment law, internal audits, and regulatory requirements

  • Assist with system-wide HR initiatives, projects, and culture efforts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of human resources experience, preferably in healthcare or a multi-site organization required

  • Experience supporting administrative or leadership-level employees

  • Strong working knowledge of employee relations, performance management, and HR policy administration

  • Ability to operate effectively in a high-visibility, high-confidentiality environment

  • Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills

  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar professional certification

  • Healthcare system or hospital HR experienc
