Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Project Manager with 5-9 years
of healthcare project management experience to join our team.  
The Project Manager will provide direct support for assigned projects - initiating, planning,
executing, and monitoring project timelines - to ensure maximum efficiency, quality, and
alignment with strategic objectives.  
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing complex projects, excellent
communication and leadership skills, and a commitment to driving process improvement across
the organization 

Responsibilities

Objectives of this Role 
• Lead the planning and defining of project scope, resource allocation, risk management,
time management, and change control. 
• Deliver projects on time and within budget while meeting quality standards and
strategic objectives. 
• Provide project management education and consultation to business stakeholders,
ensuring clear translation of strategic goals into actionable tasks. 
• Offer expert support and consultation to executives, directors, and cross-functional teams
on strategic initiatives. 
• Mentor and guide team members on process improvement strategies and best practices in
project management. 
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. 
• Develop and utilize data tracking tools to collate, analyze, and graph project performance
data. 
• Translate complex data into actionable insights for improved decision-making. 
• Report project status using visual dashboards and clear performance metrics. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Project Planning & Execution 
• Initiate, plan, develop, execute, and manage project timelines in alignment with
organizational goals. 
• Drive planning by defining scope, managing resources, mitigating risks, and ensuring
effective time management. 
• Ensure comprehensive project documentation, including work breakdown structures,
Gantt charts, and quality assurance plans. 

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication 
• Serve as a primary liaison, providing consultation and support to executives, directors,
and cross-functional teams. 
• Facilitate clear, consistent communication with internal stakeholders (e.g., senior
leadership, clinical teams, administrative staff) and external partners (e.g., vendors,
regulatory agencies). 
• Prepare and present regular project status updates, dashboards, and performance reports. 

 

Risk Management & Process Improvement 
• Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate project risks and bottlenecks. 
• Implement process improvement initiatives and innovative solutions to optimize project
outcomes. 
• Maintain quality and consistency by standardizing project management practices and
tools. 

 

Data Analysis & Reporting 
• Develop data tracking tools to collect and analyze project metrics. 
• Translate qualitative and quantitative data into measurable outcomes and actionable
insights. 
• Use data-driven insights to refine project execution and support continuous
improvement. 


Interactions & Collaboration 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success across diverse internal
and external contacts. 
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment on project objectives and
expectations. 

Qualifications

Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Technology, Business, Education, Project Management,
or a related field. 
• 5-9 years of proven project management experience, including managing complex,
concurrent projects. 
• Demonstrated expertise in project chartering, detailed planning (work breakdown
structures, Gantt charts), risk and quality management, and change control. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively
with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. 
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio,
and SharePoint. 
• Ability to develop and use data tracking tools for performance analysis. 
• Must earn the PMP certification (Project Management Professional) within 6 months of
hire date. 
Preferred:
• Master’s degree in a related field 
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting (preferred 4-6 years). 
• Familiarity with additional project management software and advanced data visualization
tools. 
• Proven ability to drive process innovation and continuous improvement in project
execution. 
Work Environment:
• Operates within a professional office setting and follows standard office etiquette. 
• Routine use of equipment includes laptops, smartphones, photocopiers, filing cabinets,
and presentation materials. 

Physical Demands:
These demands represent the essential functions of the role: 
• Time Flexibility: Ability to adjust work hours for non-home time zones
(Appalachian Regional Healthcare is on Eastern time zone). 
• Typing: Proficiency with keyboard use for efficient data entry. 
• Sitting: Ability to remain seated for extended periods. 
• Lifting: Capability to lift up to 25 pounds, including moving or adjusting light computer
equipment. 
• Communication: Clear verbal communication to effectively exchange ideas. 
• Hearing: Adequate auditory perception for normal speaking levels (use of
accommodating technology is acceptable). 
• Repetitive Motion: Frequent movement of wrists, hands, and fingers. 
• Visual Requirements: Close visual acuity for data analysis, computer work, and
extensive reading.
