The Manager of Medical Imaging Services is accountable for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the functions and activities of the Department of Medical Imaging Services.
Develops, implements, interprets and maintains work standards and various regulatory agency requirements.
Manages the radiology department in a safe and efficient manner by planning, organizing and monitoring activities of the department.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge in the field of medical imaging and recommends new services and equipment.
Assigns Medical Imaging staff in a manner to provide efficient comprehensive services to patient.
Participates in continuous quality improvement activities being provided in the department.
Develops and directs orientation, training, and staff development program for all employees and determines staffing needs and patterns.
Assists in administering the departmental budget for capital equipment, supplies, and personnel.
Investigates and resolves problems concerning such items as staffing, utilization, equipment, and supplies.
Interviews, hires, evaluates, counsels, and disciplines departmental employees as required.
Performs other related duties.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree required, or A.D. with 5 years experience in radiology
AND
Satisfactory completion of an approved school of radiologic technology.
Currently registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Certified by the state in which working.
POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess the physical ability needed to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally; and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently; and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
