The Clinical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing various routine laboratory tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease while maintaining all of the Standards of the Laboratory and the Corporation, as well as regulatory agencies.
• Successful completion of an Associate Degree in Medical Technology or one of the related sciences.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP); OR
• Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) through a National Certifying Agency; OR
• Achievement of a passing score on the HEW Proficiency Examination for Clinical Laboratory Personnel.
• Must maintain state licensure as required.
• Knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing.
• Ability to perform laboratory testing accurately and efficiently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain laboratory quality control and regulatory compliance standards.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control, and specimen handling procedures.
