The Clinic Clerk is responsible for efficient and courteous registration, transfer and discharge of patients within established policies and procedures; thoroughly compiles and types medical information for patients' records and statistical reports and maintains current and accurate patient account receivables.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Commercial courses such as filing, office methods, and business English preferred.
• Three (3) to six (6) months of on-the-job training required to attain proficiency in the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Must possess basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledgeable of medical terminology, CPT coding, and ICD-9 coding.
• Must type a minimum of sixty (60) words per minute accurately.
• Ability to operate various office machines.
• General knowledge of clerical and business procedures.
• Must be well organized and function well under stressful conditions.
