Functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse, acts as assistive personnel to provide care to patients, some of the functions include customer service skills, obtaining vital sign, point of care testing, phlebotomy, EKG's and transportation of patients in the Emergency Department.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy training and/or a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a phlebotomist required.
• Formal training or equivalent experience, such as Nursing Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), preferred.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
• Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based care setting.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
• Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and specimen collection accuracy.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism.
• Required to comply with OSHA regulations for N95 respirator training and fit testing.
