The Clinical Nurse Manager, working with Nurse Managers, is accountable for the supervision of nursing services for certain assigned nursing units to provide safe, effective and efficient nursing care. This position is an important part of the Management Team and the responsibilities for the position include: assigning, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical care for the assigned unit(s). This position is evaluated on the basis of objective measurable criteria, including maximizing the personal abilities and competence of staff nurses, licensed practical nurses and other personnel assigned to the unit(s) for which the Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible.

The purpose of this position is to provide access to advanced vascular placement devices for all acute care and ambulatory care patients within the Cumberland Valley region of Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) in a competent manner. The successful candidate for this position will work with the Chief Medical Officers (CMO’s), Clinic Managers and Community Chief Nursing Officers of the facilities within their region scheduling, directing and facilitating the delivery of clinically appropriate placements of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC) and Midline insertion. The candidate will be responsibile for Harlan, Barbourville and Middlesboro.

This position has frequent contact, not only with employees, but also with patients, patients’ families, visitors and medical staff.
