This position is an important part of the Management Team and the responsibilities for the position include: assigning, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical care for the assigned unit(s). This position is evaluated on the basis of objective measurable criteria, including maximizing the personal abilities and competence of staff nurses, licensed practical nurses and other personnel assigned to the unit(s) for which the Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible.

Works closely with the IT application teams to develop training content and have a thorough understanding of the workflows. Works closely with the Learning Management System administrator to provide oversight of the training rooms, schedule, and the equipment. Proactively monitors key workflows to improve documentation, quality of care and patient safety.

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing Operations and in conjunction with department directors/nurse managers the House Director is responsible for personnel management, interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures, staff mix allocation and coordination of bed management in order to support and enhance patient care. Collaborates with department directors/nurse managers to guide staff/physicians in the process of problem resolution. Serves as an administrative representative in off shifts.
